Well a few things have happened since my last post...

Halloween! Rylea was a chicken because that is the most used nickname for her. (There are many!) She had some pretty skinny legs when she was a newborn so I started calling her Chicken and it stuck.

At her Gymboree class with a couple of the other kids
Rylea finally has her own room! Yay! We moved into a house in Sandy in the beginning of November and we love it! We have way more space than we did before, so much space that we don't have enough furniture for all the extra rooms! :) So we're working on that one still. AND Rylea is sleeping through the night now! Consistantly that is, she would do it a couple times and then stop but now it's every night....it's awesome! I'll post pics of her room when I'm done decorating it :)
The boys using their muscles to move all our crap

Aaron finally getting to put Ryleas crib together
Thanksgiving:  Not much to say about that except we finally went shooting and ate a ton of food
Back at the house for dinner: she LOVES that monkey, she got so pissed when Amy tried to take it away

I'm so excited for Ryleas first Christmas! We got her more stuff than we said we were going to, but it was so much fun! I know she will lose interest after she rips the first present open and realizes that eating the paper is way more fun than new clothes but whatever, I'm excited! I'll post some pictures of Christmas morning in a few days.

Rylea is also doing the 'Army crawl' now, and she is a fast little bugger! She is getting so big it makes me sad sometimes but I'm so excited for all the things to come too. I always try to tell myself to make sure I just enjoy her in the moment and try not to think about how fast she's going to grow up.

She is sitting up now, such good posture!
My birthday was almost two weeks ago so Aaron got us a room up at Brighton so we could snowboard all day and hang out all night. It was fun but neither of us have been snowboarding in a couple years...I was VERY rusty and eventually realized why people wear helmets! I hit my head pretty hard on the ice...twice! so I had a good headache going when Aaron whized past me, fell and slide into a tree! He only hit his leg but he hit it hard! It's kind of funny now that we aren't in as much pain. :)
This is before the pain

It got worse the next day but I don't have a pic
We definitely got in the hot tub afterwards!
Anyway, even though we were both hurting like two old ladies we still had fun hanging out just the two of us like we did before we got pregnant; it was nice to irreponsible for a little bit.

Now we are back to reality and mostly healed and I'll try to get my butt in gear and post pictures of Christmas in the next week.

Rice cereal! YUMMM!?!?

Rylea had her first taste of rice cereal! I don't think she liked it all that much but you be the judge. (Watch the whole video, the end is the funniest part)

I don't blame her for dry heaving! We both tasted it and it was TERRIBLE! It wasn't really the taste that was bad, it was the texture that got us. If you ever get the chance....don't try it :)

So much new stuff!

Well, I don't even know where to start!
How about with the start of September when we left Rylea overnight for the first time?!
We had decided to go to Wendover with some friends for the night, so we left her with Aarons family, and we were only gone for 14 hours but it felt like a lot longer! It wouldn't have been so hard but this was how we were going to get Rylea to take a bottle, (because none of our other attempts had really worked) so I'm just thinking the whole time that she is still going to refuse it and cry the whole time and I would come home to a very sad and starving baby....that thought made me fight back tears the entire time we were gone. BUT she took it for them, and without a protest! They said she was the BEST baby ever! They even took her to church with them and didn't have any problems! I wish I would have known she would be so easy for them and I could have relaxed and enjoyed myself a little more! Oh well.

We also went to the state fair in September, it was pretty fun, but Aaron and I both agreed it will be more fun when Rylea can do some of the stuff, like go down the big yellow slide :) Then maybe the small fortune we paid to get in and eat a corn dog will be more worth it!

The following week we headed up to Snowbird for the day for Oktoberfest. There wasn't a whole lot to do but we took a picnic up and ate on the grass and walked around for a bit and afterwards we drove through the canyon some more to look at the changing colors but Rylea was ready to get home so we cut it a little short. It was pretty anyway and we managed to get a few pictures.

(Yes Rylea is wearing the same outfit she was wearing at the fair but I wanted her to get some wear out of it before it was too small)

And last...this last Tuesday Aaron had the day off and we thought it would be fun to go hang out in Park City for a while so we headed up in time to have lunch on Main Street and we had planned on walking around for a while but eventually it started raining pretty hard so we got in the car and drove over to the outlet mall to shop for a bit. I wanted Aaron to get some new clothes but I was the only that was finding anything I liked. I resisted most of the stuff I wanted but I did get a new swimsuit and dress at Tommy Bahama, and Aaron and I agreed that we WILL be going on vacation soon so I can wear this new suit! We're thinking Jamaica....?  So now I have to work on losing the last of the baby weight and start looking for some good deals on a trip! I'm so excited, but I wish we could afford to take a babysitter with us so we could take Rylea and also have alone time while there too.  Well here are some pictures from P.C.

OH and here's a picture of the new shirt Grandma Suz brought back for Rylea from Boston, it's only a little big, and another one from Grandma Suz visiting our Gymboree class today. Rylea really likes her class but I think I like getting to talk to other new moms and having a reason to get out of the house even more!

Just some things that have been on my mind.

So...only one follower but at least 5 people read this every day....maybe some of you should follow me so I don't look like a total loser! :)

I've had a few things on my mind the last few months and wanted to share.

1. I have no clue how my mom raised my sister and me by herself. It would be so hard to do it alone! Yeah, we went with our dad once in a while, but anyone who knows that story knows he wasn't the typical father. (Sorry if that offends any of my relatives, but you know he didn't always make the right decisions.)  I am so thankful I have Aaron here to help me, I don't think I would ever get to shower, eat, even go to the bathroom if he wasn't around. He works so hard for us too, I love how he is so willing to do whatever it takes to provide for his family.

2. People need to be reminded of the saying "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Seriously! Example: Rylea was less than 1 week old and I had already had two people tell me that they think breastfeeding is gross! I don't care if you think it's gross, and why do you think you need to tell me??? I shouldn't have to feel like I need to defend doing what's BEST for my baby! Not everyone is able to breastfeed and I was lucky to be successful with it! I wish I would have told them about the things they do that I think are gross! Like smoking for one... Ahh! I'm still mad about this!

3. I can't keep a plant alive, how am I keeping this baby alive? I have two plants my mom gave me after my baby shower and they are now burnt to a crisp. I have a picture I wanted to show you but the camera is throwing a temper tantrum and will not cooperate.

4. Mommy brain is a real thing! I have never had so many 'blonde' moments in my life as I have the last 3 months!

5. I am so much more paranoid than I thought I would be, I always have to remind myself to not get too worried about little things. I don't know how the families that I nannied for put so much trust in someone they just met!

6. Anyone that knows me, knows that I love sweets... a lot! And I can now say that a long, HOT, shower is way better than any dessert!

We'll see how this goes...

Well here's the first post...I'm not really sure why we're on here, I don't feel like I have a lot to talk about, but maybe that will change once I get going.

I'm going to be more honest here than I maybe should be but here it goes...Aaron and I have known each other for 2 1/2 years now and we had our little girl, Rylea, on June 1st, 2010. Even though it wasn't something we were expecting, we are loving every minute of being her parents. It's work, but it's an AWESOME job!

We aren't married like the traditional family, and we don't know what will happen in the future, but we both believe that it's more important for parents to make sure they have a good committed relationship and get along well than to have the title of husband and wife. So we'll see what happens and for now we aren't forcing anything and just taking it a day at a time.

We love our little family, we learn more about each other and ourselves everyday, and it's only getting better!
